RTDs are heavily consumed, especially during the summer at beach bars and restaurants. With the pandemic under control and the return to normal life, an improved performance is expected over the forecast period to 2027.
In 2022, virtually all RTDs were spirit based, with vodka the main variant. In 2022, spirits continued to expand with the launch of the first rum-based RTD Mangoustan.
Launched in September 2022, the ready-to-drink brand Sunset from Société nouvelle de Brasserie (SONOBRA) is becoming popular in Tunisia, especially given the notable absence of category leader Smirnoff Ice in 2022. The affordable price of this new brand and its wide availability across off-trade and on-trade channels is driving brand sales and attracting young consumers who enjoy going to nightclubs and bars.

RTDs
RTD stands for ‘ready-to-drink’. Other terms which may be used for these products are FABs, alcopops and premixes. The RTDs sector is the aggregation of malt-, wine-, spirit- and other types of premixed drinks. These drinks usually have an alcohol content of around 5% but this can reach as high as 10% ABV. Premixes containing a high percentage of alcohol of around 15%+ combined with juice or any other soft drink are included here. RTDs are usually marketed as products to be drunk neat, with ice, or as a cocktail ingredient. Fruit-flavoured, vodka-based spirits with an alcohol content of between 16-21% are classified here. Examples: Alizé, Ursus Roter, Berentzen Fruchtige, Kleiner Feigling.
