Breakfast, lunch and dinner are considered important meals for most people in Jordan, with lunch usually considered the most important meal of the day. Dinner is usually taken very late, and many people have a late afternoon or early evening snack to bridge the gap between lunch and dinner.
Jordan’s GDP grew by 2.9% in Q1 2023, with retail, restaurants and tourism being among the key growth drivers.
Aside from traffic jams during rush hour and some badly repaired roads there are little challenges to the distribution of packaged food in Jordan. However, ongoing instability in Syria continues to limit imports from Lebanon and Turkey, in addition to making these products more expensive.
