The evolution of sunflower oil over the forecast period will have a huge impact on the performance of edible oils as a whole. Sunflower oil is a commodity and deeply anchored in the Romanian cuisine.
Private label is set to continue to benefit from the perception of sunflower oil as a low sophistication product type, which makes relatively low prices a driver of demand. Low price demand is primarily satisfied by private label products made of local seeds in local facilities.
The smaller categories in edible oils are expected to be the most dynamic in growth terms over the forecast period, mainly due to a healthier perception or cooking attributes. Compared to sunflower oil, they will remain niches, but small market sizes can offer higher growth potential.
