Arma Food Industries Ltd maintains its lead in edible oils, thanks to the success of its top Crystal brand, along with the fact it offers a variety of brand lines across different price points, to cater to a wide range of consumers. However, even Arma Food has been forced into making several price increases, due to its own increased costs concerning raw materials.
The declines seen in edible oils volumes is a major concern for the Egyptian government. As such, the government seeks to boost its own production of vegetable oils, in addition to other goods and commodities, therefore becoming more self-sufficient and less dependent on imports.
Edible oils is set for healthier volume growth over the forecast period, thanks to a basic demand for such products in the country. Indeed, edible oils are key ingredients in Egyptian kitchens and are used for a wide variety of food, including cheap-to-make foods such as potato fries and aubergine sandwiches.
