Vending is expected to show healthy growth in Mexico in current value terms in the forecast period, with snacks and soft drinks remaining the most important products. However, in the short term, expansion of the product range offered through vending machines is expected, including fresh foods, and toys and games, which are so far underdeveloped in Mexico.
Vending is a key choice for many consumers in Mexico, as it is a channel that offers convenience and quick access to products on-the-go. However, the boom of e-commerce and the availability of fast delivery options (quick commerce can deliver orders within a timeframe of 10-30 minutes) have eroded the convenience advantage associated with vending machines.
Over the forecast period, the vending channel has considerable room for growth in Mexico, as it remains underdeveloped in the market compared with other countries. For example, sales per capita through vending machines are extremely low in Mexico compared with Canada or the US.
